Experience counts
In construction and skilled trades, employers and authorities weigh practical competence and site experience above formal qualification recognition — less bureaucracy, faster hiring.
Construction & skilled trades
Skilled and semi-skilled construction workers from the Philippines — structural steel, installation, finishing — selected for practical experience, not for paperwork. Their Red-White-Red Card runs through Other Key Workers as readily as the shortage-occupation track. Fully legal. Free of charge for employers.
In construction and skilled trades, Austrian employers weigh hands-on competence and site experience above formal qualification recognition — which is exactly why the Filipino route here moves faster than in regulated professions.
The problem
The order is signed, the site is live — and the crew is two trades short. Then the familiar choice of bad options: subcontract at double rates, pay the client penalty for a slipped milestone, or push a core crew already on overtime. Every open trade position costs a mid-sized contractor €5,000–25,000 a month — and the local market won’t close it. What does close it is a workforce selected for practical skill, not for a certificate that has to match the Austrian apprenticeship system one-to-one.
Who we fill

Border trades — installation and maintenance — overlap with our plant-construction desk; we place from both.
The timeline
Pick the role and the month you need people working. We’ll show the realistic route — and the latest start date.
Drag to choose a month
By February 2027 the full cycle no longer fits. A realistic ready date: April 2027. If the shortage repeats every season, now is the time to break the cycle.
A planning guide, not a guaranteed processing time: actual duration depends on the position, the completeness of documents and the authorities’ workload.
A personalised step-by-step plan: your role, your dates, every stage.
The route is chosen per candidate — education, experience, German, age, your requirements and the salary level decide between the Mangelberufe and Sonstige-Schlüsselkräfte tracks. We map it before you commit.
Why it works
In construction and skilled trades, employers and authorities weigh practical competence and site experience above formal qualification recognition — less bureaucracy, faster hiring.
Many candidates bring years on Gulf and Asian construction and infrastructure projects — structural steel, installation, finishing.
German requirements on site are more achievable than in regulated or client-facing roles; for some profiles strong English is enough to start, with German built up on the job.
The RWR Card runs through Skilled Workers in Shortage Occupations (Mangelberufe) where the qualification fits — or through Other Key Workers: a points threshold plus a salary threshold, without relying on recognition of a specific qualification. A university degree, even outside the trade, earns points.
