Hotels & tourism

Every unfilled service or housekeeping position costs your house €15,000–35,000 a month.

Filipino hospitality professionals: English from day one, German within 3–6 months, an average tenure of 18–24 months — not one season. Fully legal, via the RWR Card or the seasonal quota. Free of charge for employers.

18–24 months — and they stay

The 2026 seasonal quota for third countries: 5,500 places for all of Austria, 2,500 of them reserved with priority for the Western Balkans. Places are scarce — and they go to those who plan ahead.

A note on focus: hospitality is a long-term market for us. The reason is qualification recognition: cooks, chefs, sous chefs, pastry chefs and bakers are measured against Austria’s apprenticeship system, which, with language and classification expectations, lengthens the path. We still place hospitality teams; we are simply candid that construction and plant trades move faster today.

The problem

We know what your September looks like

Service and housekeeping positions stay open for 4–8 months. You close a floor — and lose revenue while demand is alive. You bring in a cleaning contractor — and the quality stops being yours. You overload your own people — and by season’s end, they are the ones handing in notice. Every month “solved” this way costs a mid-sized house €15,000–35,000 — and every seasonal rotation restarts the meter: recruitment, paperwork, onboarding, first weeks at half productivity.

Tight on time

By February 2027 the full cycle no longer fits. A realistic ready date: June 2027. If the shortage repeats every season, now is the time to break the cycle.

A planning guide, not a guaranteed processing time: actual duration depends on the position, the completeness of documents and the authorities’ workload.

A personalised step-by-step plan: your role, your dates, every stage.

The full cycle takes up to 10 months. To be fully staffed for the winter season, count backwards from its start: the launch window is the first months of the year.

Why it works

Why Filipinos for hospitality

English is a working language from day one.

German follows within 3–6 months (courses start while still in the Philippines).

A service culture.

Hospitality is part of Filipino culture and one of the country’s key industries; candidates come with experience from Gulf and Asian hotels.

They stay.

Average tenure of 18–24 months versus 4–8 in seasonal models. Fewer rotations — stable quality.

Legally clean.

RWR Card or seasonal quota, no wage-dumping risk, BUAK-compliant, in line with Austrian labour law.

Honest expectations

What we say openly — before signing, not after

  • This is not “people in two weeks.” A realistic horizon starts at 4 months; seasonal quota places are limited.
  • German is basic at the start. English is fluent; German reaches confident conversational level within the first months on the job.
  • Housing is your responsibility. We advise — but your ability to provide accommodation strongly affects the project’s success.
  • We don’t control the authorities’ processing times. We give realistic ranges and manage the process, but the RWR decision is made by Austria.
